What Happened
The wiper motor in your Mustang is the part that controls your windshield wipers and washer system. In very cold temperatures, it might only let you use the high-speed setting, and the washer might not work properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiper motor fails in cold temperatures, your windshield wipers may not clear snow or water well, and your washer system might not spray any fluid. This could cause reduced visibility, making it harder to drive safely and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will inspect and replace the wiper motor as needed, free of charge, when the remedy is available. You'll get a second letter once the repair is ready, expected in late March 2027.

Original — What Happened
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Mustang and 2025-2026 Mustang GTD vehicles. During certain cold temperature conditions, the windshield wipers may function only at their high-speed setting and the washing system may fail to function properly.

Dealers will inspect and replace the wiper motor as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 9, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late March 2027. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C32.
