What Happened
The windshield wiper motor in your Mustang is what controls the speed of your windshield wipers and the wash system that clears snow and dirt. In some 2024-2026 models, this motor might not work right in very cold temperatures, limiting your wiper speed or stopping the wash system.
Risk if Unfixed
If your wipers or wash system don't work as they should, especially in cold and snowy conditions, you'll have reduced visibility while driving. This increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will check and replace the wiper motor if it's faulty, at no cost to you. They'll do this once the remedy is available, which is expected to be in late March 2027.

Original — What Happened
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Mustang and 2025-2026 Mustang GTD vehicles. During certain cold temperature conditions, the windshield wipers may function only at their high-speed setting and the washing system may fail to function properly.

Windshield wipers or a washing system that fails to function as intended can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the wiper motor as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 9, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in late March 2027. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C32.
