What Happened
The Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) in your Bronco or Edge is a computer that helps your rearview camera work. In some 2021-2024 models, this module can overheat and shut down, stopping the rearview camera image from showing up on your screen.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera image doesn't display, you'll have a reduced view behind your vehicle, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will update the APIM software for free, or you can get the update over-the-air. This fix is included in the recall, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
