AIR BAGS Safety Recalls

High Priority #15V338000 Plain English
Component

AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE

Manufacturer
Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc.
What Happened
The passenger side airbag inflator module is a critical safety component that deploys in a crash to protect you. In some 2000-2005 Eclipse, Sebring, and Stratus models, this module could fail, causing the airbag to deploy in a way that might detach the passenger side sun visor.
Risk if Unfixed
If the sun visor detaches and flies backward, you're at risk of getting hit by it, which could cause injury. In a crash, this could lead to serious harm.
Free Fix
Your dealer will secure the passenger sun visor with a tether strap, ensuring it stays in place during an airbag deployment. This repair is completely free of charge.
