What Happened
The corner and bumper lamp assemblies on your vehicle are the parts that light up when you're driving at night. In some aftermarket lamps sold for your vehicle, the amber side reflectors are missing.

If these lamps are installed on your vehicle, it could lead to decreased visibility while driving at night, which may increase the risk of a crash.

Original — What Happened
SABERSPORT IS RECALLING 16,270 COMBINATION CORNER AND BUMPER LAMP ASSEMBLIES OF VARIOUS PART NUMBERS SOLD FOR USE AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THESE LAMPS DO NOT CONTAIN THE REQUIRED AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS.

What Happened
The hazard warning switch in your vehicle is the part that controls your turn signals and hazard lights. In some cases, the soldering process that holds it together can crack, causing the lights to malfunction.
Risk if Unfixed
If the solder joint cracks, your turn signals and hazard lights could fail. This means you won't be able to signal your intentions to turn, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the hazard warning switch for free. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.

CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES HAVE HAZARD WARNING SWITCHES THAT MAY EXPERIENCE SOLDER JOINT CRACKING CAUSED BY RAPID TEMPERATURE TRANSITIONS AND THE SOLDERING PROCESS. IF SOLDER JOINT CRACKING OCCURS AND RESULTS IN AN OPEN CIRCUIT, THE TURN SIGNALS/HAZARD LAMPS BECOME INTERMITTENT OR INOPERATIVE.

WHEN THE TURN SIGNALS ARE INOPERATIVE, THE DRIVER CANNOT USE THEM TO SIGNAL INTENT TO TURN THAT COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
