What Happened
The corner and bumper lamp assemblies on your vehicle are the lights that attach to the front and rear of your car. In some aftermarket lamps sold for your vehicle, the amber side reflectors are missing, which is a safety requirement.
Risk if Unfixed
Without the amber side reflectors, your vehicle's side lighting may be less visible to other drivers, especially at night or in low-light conditions. This could lead to a vehicle crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will provide a full refund for the non-compliant lamps, so you won't need to pay a thing. Simply contact the lamp manufacturer, Sabersport, at 1-909-598-7589 to arrange the refund.

SABERSPORT IS RECALLING 16,270 COMBINATION CORNER AND BUMPER LAMP ASSEMBLIES OF VARIOUS PART NUMBERS SOLD FOR USE AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THESE LAMPS DO NOT CONTAIN THE REQUIRED AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS.

What Happened
The hazard warning switch in your vehicle controls your turn signals and hazard lights. It's a small component that can crack and fail if it's exposed to sudden temperature changes.

If the switch fails, your turn signals could stop working, making it harder to communicate your intentions to other drivers and potentially causing a collision.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty hazard warning switch with a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES HAVE HAZARD WARNING SWITCHES THAT MAY EXPERIENCE SOLDER JOINT CRACKING CAUSED BY RAPID TEMPERATURE TRANSITIONS AND THE SOLDERING PROCESS. IF SOLDER JOINT CRACKING OCCURS AND RESULTS IN AN OPEN CIRCUIT, THE TURN SIGNALS/HAZARD LAMPS BECOME INTERMITTENT OR INOPERATIVE.
