Component
POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:INTERNAL:SHAFT:INPUT
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The input shaft in your motorcycle's gearbox is like a strong, spinning rod that connects your engine to your rear wheel. In some 2019-2023 models, this shaft might bend or break while you're riding.
Risk if Unfixed
If the input shaft fails, it can lock up your rear wheel, making it harder to steer and control your motorcycle. This could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the computer system that controls your engine, and this service is completely free. You should schedule the update as soon as you receive the recall notice.
