Component
EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The third brake light on your M6 Gran Coupe is a crucial light that alerts other drivers when you're slowing down. It's held in place by a few fasteners that might loosen over time.
Risk if Unfixed
If the light comes loose and falls off, it could no longer warn following traffic that you're slowing down. This could lead to a collision, and the detached light might become a hazard on the road.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the third brake light and tighten its fasteners to keep it securely in place. If the light is damaged from being loose, they'll replace it entirely – all for free. Just schedule the repair when you receive the recall notice.
