EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The third brake light on your M6 Gran Coupe is the light in the rear window that signals when you're slowing down or stopping. In some 2014-2019 models, this light can become loose and fall off, possibly causing a safety problem.
Risk if Unfixed
If the light detaches, it won't be visible to other drivers, making it harder for them to see when you're slowing down or stopping. It could also become a hazard on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect and tighten the third brake light with new fasteners. If the light is damaged, they'll replace it for you – all at no charge to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
