What Happened
Your 2014-2019 BMW M6 Gran Coupe may have a faulty third brake light that could come loose and fall off.

If this happens, it could lead to a serious crash because following traffic won't see your brake lights, or the light could become a hazard on the road.
Free Fix
BMW will fix this for free. Dealers will check your third brake light, secure it properly with new fasteners, and replace it if it's damaged. You won't pay a thing.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2014-2019 M6 Gran Coupe vehicles. The third brake light may become loose, possibly allowing the light to detach from the vehicle.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the third brake light detaches from the vehicle, it would no longer provide the required lighting to following traffic, or it may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
BMW will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the third brake light and properly secure it with new fasteners. If the third brake light detached from the vehicle and is damaged, it will be replaced. All repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began April 17, 2020.
