Component
STEERING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The steering damper in your motorcycle helps stabilize your bike's steering. In certain 2024-2025 models, the valve pin inside the damper might be loose, making steering harder than usual.
Risk if Unfixed
If the valve pin is loose, you could experience a sudden, extra-hard pull on the handlebars while riding, which could make it harder to control your motorcycle and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the steering damper with a new one that's designed to work smoothly, and the repair will be done at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.
