Component
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The throttle valve is like the 'gas pedal' for your motorcycle's engine. In your 2012 K1600 GT or GTL, it might receive a faulty signal that tells the engine to slow down too much.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your engine could stall while you're riding, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the software that controls the throttle valve for free, so you should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
