Risk if Unfixed
If the reverse gear control unit overheats, it could catch fire while you're driving, which is a serious risk.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the reverse gear control unit for free. You'll get a notification letter first, and a second one when the repair is ready. In the meantime, you can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
