What Happened
The fuel pump in your motorcycle is responsible for delivering gasoline to the engine. In some 2011-2014 models, this pump can crack and leak fuel while you're riding.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump cracks, you could leak fuel, which in the presence of an ignition source, like a spark plug or hot exhaust, could cause a fire. This could lead to a serious accident or injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty fuel pump with a new one at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.

BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2011-2014 S 1000 RR/R/ HP4, R 1200 GS/GS Adventure/R/RT, K 1300 S, K 1600 GT/GTL/GTL Exclusive and 2014 R nine T motorcycles. The fuel pump, and auxiliary fuel pump in certain models, may crack and leak fuel during vehicle operation.

What Happened
Your motorcycle's fuel pump is the part that sends gasoline from the tank to the engine. In certain models from 2005-2012, the pump's flange may crack, causing a fuel leak.

BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2009-2011 K1300 (S, GT), 2010-2011 S1000 RR, 2005-2011 R1200 (GS, GS Adventure, R, RT, S, ST), 2006-2010 HP2 (Enduro, Megamoto, Sport), 2005-2008 K1200 (R, R Sport, S, GT), and 2012 K1600 (GT, GTL) motorcycles that were repaired under recall 13V-617 with the support ring remedy and where the fuel pump was not replaced at a later date. This recall involves the fuel pump, and also the auxiliary fuel pump as applicable. The affected motorcycles have a fuel pump flange that may crack, possibly resulting in a fuel leak while the engine is running.

What Happened
Your motorcycle's fuel pump is like a tiny engine that brings gasoline from the tank to your engine. In some 2005-2012 BMW motorcycles, this pump's flange (the part that connects it to the tank) could crack and start leaking fuel.
Risk if Unfixed
If the flange cracks and leaks fuel, and you're near a spark, it could ignite and cause a fire.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will either reinforce the flange or replace the pump, free of charge. You'll get a notification, and you should schedule the repair as soon as possible.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

What Happened
The throttle valve control is like a messenger that tells your motorcycle's engine how fast to go. In some 2012 K1600 GT and K1600 GTL models, this messenger might send the wrong signal, slowing down your engine.
Risk if Unfixed
If the engine speed is limited too much, it could stall while you're riding, which could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the software that controls the throttle, and this update is completely free. You should schedule the repair when you receive the recall notice.

BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2012 K1600 GT and K1600 GTL motorcycles. In certain riding conditions, an incorrect throttle valve control signal may be received by the engine control unit, limiting the engine speed.
