What Happened
The front seat length adjustment system in your 740i, 760i xDrive, or i7 xDrive60 is a mechanism that lets you adjust the position of the seat. Unfortunately, in some cases, it wasn't welded correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If your front seat isn't properly welded, it might not hold you securely in place during a crash. This could increase the risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the front seat and if needed, replace the seat's front structure and length adjustment system at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
