Component
AIR BAGS
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The front passenger air bag system in your 760i or i7 is designed to keep you safe in a collision. In some cases, the computer that controls this system might not recognize the seat position, and turn off the air bag, knee air bag, and headrest.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag is disabled, it won't deploy when you need it to, which could leave you at greater risk of injury in a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will update the computer that controls your front passenger air bag system, making sure it works correctly and deploys when needed. This service is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive your recall notice.
