ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) Safety Recalls

Under Review #24V104000 Plain English
Component

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The integrated brake system in your vehicle is a complex control unit that helps your brakes work smoothly. In certain 2023-2025 BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce models, this system could malfunction and fail to provide proper power brake assist or make your ABS and DSC systems not work correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the integrated brake system fails, you might have to press the brake pedal harder to stop your vehicle, which can increase the distance it takes to stop. Or, the ABS and DSC systems could shut off, making it harder to control your vehicle, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty integrated brake system with a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get your recall notice, and it's free, so don't delay.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC. (BMW) is recalling certain 2023-2025 BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models and model years. The integrated brake (IB) system may malfunction and result in a loss of power brake assist or cause the Antilock Brake (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) systems to not function properly.

A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle. Additionally, malfunctioning ABS and/or DSC systems can cause a loss of vehicle control. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
