ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Safety Recalls

Critical #15V537000 Plain English
Component

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The engine control unit is the computer that manages your motorcycle's engine. In certain 2013-2015 BMW G 650 GS models, this computer can cause your bike to stall when you pull in the clutch while idling.
Risk if Unfixed
If the engine stalls, you could lose control of your motorcycle, especially if you're stopped or moving slowly. This increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the engine control unit software with a revised version to prevent stalling, free of charge. You'll get a notice and should contact BMW to schedule the update.
