Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The engine control unit, or ECU, is the brain of your motorcycle's engine. In some 2013-2015 G 650 GS and G 650 GS Sertao models, the ECU's software may not work properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If your engine stalls while you're stopped and the clutch lever is pulled in, you could lose control of the motorcycle and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will update the ECU's software to fix the issue, and this repair is on the house. You should schedule the update as soon as you get the recall notice.
