ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:DRIVER MONITORING:CAMERA/SENSOR

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The camera/sensor in your vehicle is part of the driver monitoring system, which helps prevent accidents by ensuring you're keeping your hands on the steering wheel. In some 2023-2024 BMW models, the connection to this system wasn't properly attached.
Risk if Unfixed
If the system fails, it might not detect when you've taken your hands off the wheel, so the emergency stopping assistant won't engage. This increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealership will inspect and reattach the ground connection to the camera/sensor system, which will keep you safe on the road. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive your recall notice.

Original — Remedy

BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
Your car has a special bar on the dashboard that controls your windshield defroster and hazard lights. In some 2023 740i, 760i xDrive, and i7 xDrive60 models, this bar might not turn on the defroster or hazard lights when you press the buttons, and the buttons might not light up when you press them.
Risk if Unfixed
If the defroster or hazard lights don't turn on when you need them, you could be more likely to be in a crash or hurt in an accident.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the Interaction Bar with a new one that works properly, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair when you get your recall notice.
