Component

POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The CV joint in your vehicle is like a flexible elbow that connects your transmission to your wheels. It's designed to absorb stress, but in some 2011-2012 models, it can wear out and break.
Risk if Unfixed
If the CV joint fails, you'll lose power to your wheels, which can make it hard to steer and brake. This could lead to a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the CV joint and replace it if necessary, all at no cost to you. You'll be notified when it's time to bring your vehicle in for the repair.
