Component
POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The driveshaft in your vehicle is a long rod that transfers power from the engine to the wheels. In some 2020-2021 BMW models, the part that connects the driveshaft to the rear wheels might be weak due to a mistake in its production.
Risk if Unfixed
If this weak part breaks, you could lose power while driving, or your vehicle might roll away if you're not using the parking brake, which could cause a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty output shaft with a new one, at no cost to you. You'll be notified when the repair is ready, and it's essential to schedule it as soon as possible to ensure your safety.
