What Happened
Your vehicle's engine management system is like a computer that helps control your engine and brakes. In some 2020-2021 BMW models, this system might not work properly when you start the engine.
Risk if Unfixed
If the system fails, you'll lose the extra braking assist that helps you stop smoothly. This means you'll have to rely on your regular brakes, which can be more difficult to control, and could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the engine management software for free. This will ensure your brakes work as intended, and it's a quick fix that won't cost you a thing. You should schedule the update as soon as you get the recall notice.
