Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The electrical wiring system in your vehicle includes the wires and connectors that control the heating and cooling system. In certain models, these wires and connectors can get overheated.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring overheats, it could melt the electrical connectors, even when your car is parked and unattended. This could lead to a fire.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty wiring and connectors with new ones, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair when you receive the second notice, which will be sent once the replacement parts are available.
