Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The wiring in your vehicle controls the heating and air conditioning system, kind of like a network of roads that let the system 'talk' to your climate controls. In some 2006-2011 BMW models, this wiring can get too hot and fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring overheats, the electrical connections could melt, causing a fire even when your car is parked and unattended. This is a serious risk, and we want to address it ASAP.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty wiring and electrical connectors with new, safer parts – at no cost to you. They'll notify you when the repair is ready, and you should schedule it as soon as you can.
