Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The wiring in your vehicle controls the heating and air conditioning system. In certain 2006-2011 BMW models, the wiring and electrical connectors can become overheated.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring overheats, it could melt the electrical connectors and cause a fire, even when you're not driving or even when the vehicle is parked.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty wiring and electrical connectors with new ones, at no cost to you. You'll get a notice with instructions on how to schedule the repair when it becomes available.
