Audi is recalling your 2021 SQ7, RSQ8, RS7, RS6 AVANT, or SQ8 vehicle because cracks might develop on the inside of your engine cylinder.
Risk if Unfixed
If the cracks get worse, your engine could be damaged, causing it to stall or leak oil, which could lead to a crash or a fire.
Free Fix
Audi will replace your engine for free. You should contact them at 1-800-253-2834 to schedule the repair, or wait for the notification letter you should have received on July 9, 2021, which has the Audi number 10G9.

What Happened
The rear seat belt in your vehicle has a special mechanism that locks automatically when it senses a child seat is buckled in. In some 2021 and 2022 models, this mechanism can fail early, which means your child's seat might not be secured properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rear seat belt fails to lock, your child's safety seat might not be secure, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. This is especially concerning because a child restraint system is designed to keep them safe in an accident.
Free Fix
Your Volkswagen or Audi dealer will inspect the middle-rear seat belt and replace it if necessary, at no cost to you. You'll receive a recall notice, and you should schedule the repair as soon as possible.

The lock nut on your vehicle's rear axle helps hold the suspension in place. In some 2021 Audi models and certain 2019-2021 models, this nut can weaken and break due to corrosion, causing the rear axle to move out of position.

If the lock nut breaks, the rear axle could become misaligned, making it harder to control your vehicle. This could lead to a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
