SEAT BELTS:REAR/OTHER:RETRACTOR

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The rear seat belt retractor in your vehicle is a mechanism that helps keep your child's seatbelt locked in place. In certain 2021-2022 models, this retractor might stop working too soon, which can make it harder to secure a child restraint system.
Risk if Unfixed
If the retractor deactivates too early, the child restraint system won't work properly, putting your child at risk of serious injury during a crash.
Free Fix
Your Volkswagen or Audi dealer will inspect and replace the middle-rear seat belt assembly, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice, and it's already been mailed out to you.
