High Priority #25V227000 Plain English
Component

AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION:FRONT PASSENGER

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The passenger occupant detection system in your RS E-TRON GT or E-TRON GT is responsible for deciding whether or not to inflate the front passenger air bag. It uses sensors to detect the weight and position of the passenger in the seat.
Risk if Unfixed
If the system fails and deactivates the air bag, you and your passenger are at risk of serious injury if there's a crash. This is a critical safety feature that could leave you unprotected in a collision.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the faulty seat cushion with a new one that includes the correct wiring, all at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as possible once you receive the recall notice.
