What Happened
The seal around the engine compartment in your Audi is a protective barrier that keeps hot engine parts from causing damage. In some 2013-2018 S8 and A8 models, this seal can come loose and touch the hot parts.
Risk if Unfixed
If the seal touches the hot engine parts, it could spark a fire. This could cause serious damage to your vehicle and potentially put you at risk.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will install a new plate to keep the seal from coming loose. This repair is free, and you'll be notified when it's time to schedule the fix.

Original — What Happened
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Audi S8 and A8 vehicles. The seal around the engine compartment may come loose and contact hot engine components.

Audi will notify owners, and dealers will install a retaining plate to prevent the engine compartment seal from loosening. The recall began September 4, 2020. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 51G6.
