Component

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The gateway control module is like the brain of your car's electrical system, controlling many of its functions. In your Audi, it's located in the trunk, and it could be damaged if liquid gets in.
Risk if Unfixed
If liquid spills in the rear seat and reaches the gateway control module, it could shut down, suddenly reducing engine power. This could make it harder to control your vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will install a protective cover to shield the gateway control module from liquid damage – and it's free of charge. You should schedule the repair when you receive the recall notice.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:FUEL GAUGE:FUEL LEVEL FLOAT/SENSOR/SENDING UNIT

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The fuel level sensor in your Audi is the part that tells you how much gas you have left. In certain models, this sensor can get stuck, giving you an incorrect reading on your dashboard.
Risk if Unfixed
If the sensor fails, your fuel gauge might say you have more gas than you actually do. This could cause your engine to stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will swap out the faulty sensor for a new one at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you get the recall notice, and it'll be done for free.
