AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS) in your vehicle uses a mat under the front passenger seat to determine whether a passenger is there. But stress or wear on this mat could cause the system to malfunction.
Risk if Unfixed
If the PODS system fails, the front passenger airbag might not deploy properly in a crash. This could leave the passenger unprotected and increase the risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the faulty PODS system with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
