Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The infotainment system in your vehicle has a main unit that controls the rearview camera display. In some 2021-2022 Audi models, this unit can get damaged when you turn off the engine, making the camera display not work the next time you start the car.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera display is out, you'll have reduced visibility behind your vehicle, making it more likely you could get into a crash when reversing or changing lanes.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will swap out the faulty infotainment main unit for a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice, and you can call Audi's customer service at 1-800-253-2834 for more information.

Original — Risk if Unfixed
An inoperative rearview camera display reduces the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
