Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The gateway control module in your vehicle is like a central computer that helps your engine run smoothly. In some 2019-2022 Audi models, liquid spilled in the rear seat can sneak into this module and cause it to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the gateway control module shuts down, your engine's power will decrease suddenly, which could increase the risk of a crash while driving.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will install a protective cover over the module to prevent damage from spills, and this repair will be done at no cost to you.
