AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION:FRONT PASSENGER

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The occupant classification system in your Audi is a sensor that helps the airbag know if a passenger is sitting in the front seat. In certain 2015-2020 models, this sensor can malfunction and turn off the passenger airbag when someone is actually sitting there.
Risk if Unfixed
If the passenger airbag is deactivated, you and your passenger are at greater risk of injury in the event of a crash. This is a serious safety risk that could lead to serious harm.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the faulty sensor mat and update the airbag control module, all at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.
