Component

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The suction jet pump in your vehicle's fuel tank helps control fuel vapors. In some 2015-2020 models, the seal in this pump can wear out, allowing fuel to leak into the air system and potentially escape through the charcoal canister.
Risk if Unfixed
If fuel leaks out of the tank and an ignition source is present, it could ignite and cause a fire. This is a serious risk that could lead to property damage or injury.
Free Fix
Your Audi or Volkswagen dealer will replace the faulty suction pump with a new one at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive your recall notice, and be sure to let them know if your vehicle was previously recalled under 16V-647 so they can complete the new fix.
