Component

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:BELTS AND ASSOCIATED PULLEYS

Manufacturer
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)
What Happened
The timing belt in your vehicle is like a long, flexible chain that connects the engine's crankshaft to its valves. It's responsible for keeping your engine running smoothly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the timing belt's teeth separate from the belt while you're driving, your engine could stall. This means you'll lose power and could struggle to control your vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect your engine and replace the timing belt with a new one, and also inspect the engine for any damage. Any damaged parts will be replaced at no cost to you. The repair is completely free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
