Component
SUSPENSION:FRONT:SPRINGS:COIL SPRINGS
Manufacturer
HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.)
What Happened
The coil springs in your front suspension are like flexible rods that help absorb bumps on the road. In some areas with high road salt use, these springs might not be protected well against corrosion, which can cause them to weaken over time.
Risk if Unfixed
If the springs corrode too much, they could break, puncturing a front tire and making your vehicle harder to control. This could lead to a crash, especially if you're driving at high speeds on a slippery or uneven road.
Free Fix
Your Acura dealer will swap out both of your front springs for new, corrosion-resistant ones at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you get the recall notice.
