Component

SUSPENSION:REAR:SPRINGS:COIL SPRINGS

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The coil springs in the back of your Atlas, Golf SportWagen, or Jetta help support the weight of the vehicle. Over time, they can weaken and break, especially if they're exposed to heavy loads or extreme temperatures.
Risk if Unfixed
If a coil spring breaks while you're driving, it could damage one of your rear tires. This might cause your vehicle to lose control, making it harder to steer and increasing the risk of a collision.
Free Fix
Your Volkswagen dealer will replace the faulty coil springs with new, stronger ones – at no cost to you. Schedule the repair as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.
