What Happened
There's a problem with the axle assembly in your 2022-2023 Toyota Tacoma. Improperly secured fasteners can cause the axle shaft to come loose.
Risk if Unfixed
If the axle shaft separates, it can cause your vehicle to lose stability and braking power, which increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Toyota will inspect your rear axle assembly, tighten the nuts if needed, and replace any damaged parts for free. You'll receive a letter with instructions, and you can also contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 for more information.

Original — What Happened
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturer (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tacoma vehicles. The axle shaft sub-assembly may separate from the axle housing due to debris causing improperly secured fasteners.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Axle shaft separation can cause a loss of vehicle stability and brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will inspect the rear axle assembly, tighten the axle retaining nuts as necessary, and repair or replace any damaged components, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 17, 2024. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 24TB05 and 24TA05.

What Happened
Your 2022-2023 Toyota Tacoma may have a problem with the child seat anchors in the back. The welds that hold these anchors together might not be strong enough.
Risk if Unfixed
If the welds are weak, your child's car seat might not be securely attached, which could cause it to move during a sudden stop or crash, increasing the risk of injury to your child.
Free Fix
Toyota will inspect and re-weld the child seat anchors for free, at no cost to you. They'll send you a letter with instructions and a phone number to contact them, 1-800-331-4331, reference numbers 22TB09/ 22TA09.

Original — What Happened
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tacoma vehicles. One or more of the individual welds in the upper child seat anchors may be insufficient. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage System."
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An insufficient weld may prevent the child seat from being anchored properly, allowing the seat to move during a sudden stop or crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Dealers will inspect the upper child seat anchors and reweld the child seat anchors, as necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 02, 2022. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 22TB09/ 22TA09.

Gulf States Toyota, Inc. (GST) is recalling certain 2022 4Runner, Tacoma, Highlander, and Highlander Hybrid vehicles. The load carrying capacity modification labels may not be permanent and can fade, becoming illegible. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
