What Happened
Your vehicle is being recalled because a part called the front driveshaft's CV joint might break, which is a critical part that helps your vehicle move smoothly.
Risk if Unfixed
If this part breaks, it can make your vehicle harder to steer, and in some cases, it can even roll away without the parking brake being applied, which could lead to a crash.

Original — What Happened
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2025 Tacoma and Tacoma Hybrid vehicles. The front driveshaft constant-velocity (CV) joint may deform and break.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A broken driveshaft can impair steering. Vehicles with full-time 4WD may experience a vehicle rollaway while parked without the parking brake applied. Both scenarios increase the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace both front driveshaft assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed November 14, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in late May 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331. The rear brake hoses in your 2024-2025 Tacoma are responsible for carrying brake fluid to the rear wheels. If mud and dirt accumulate inside the wheels, the hoses can get damaged and leak fluid.

Due to an error in the instrument panel software at vehicle startup, the instrument panel may fail to display vehicle speed, brake system, and tire pressure warning lights.

Dealers will update the instrument panel software over-the-air (OTA) for non-PHEV vehicles, free of charge. For PHEV vehicles, dealers will inspect the instrument panel assembly, and either replace it, or update the software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 5, 2025. Additional letters will be sent, anticipated in May 2026. This is a phased recall. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331.
