What Happened
The low-beam headlights on your Model 3 or Model Y are the part that shines the light on the road ahead. But in some cases, these headlights might be shining too brightly.
Risk if Unfixed
If your low-beam headlights are too bright, they could temporarily blind oncoming drivers, making it harder for them to see the road. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Tesla is still working on the fix for this issue. You'll receive a letter from Tesla on September 15, 2026, with instructions on how to proceed. In the meantime, you can contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752 for more information.

Original — What Happened
Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles. The headlight low beams may be too bright and exceed the maximum light output. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
