What Happened
The headlight low beams in your Model 3 or Model Y are the lights that shine down the road when you're driving at night. In some 2017-2023 and 2020-2023 models, these lights might be too bright.
Risk if Unfixed
If your low beams are too bright, they could temporarily blind oncoming drivers, making it harder for them to see the road. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Tesla will fix the issue, but they're still working on the solution. You'll get a recall notice on September 15, 2026, with more information on how to schedule the repair, which will be done at no cost to you.

Original — What Happened
Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles. The headlight low beams may be too bright and exceed the maximum light output. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
