What Happened
Your vehicle's headlight low beams are designed to provide a safe amount of light for nighttime driving. However, in some 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles, these lights might be shining too brightly.
Risk if Unfixed
If your low beams are too intense, they could temporarily blind oncoming drivers, making it harder for them to see and increasing the risk of a crash.

Original — What Happened
Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles. The headlight low beams may be too bright and exceed the maximum light output. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
