What Happened
The low-beam headlights on your vehicle are designed to cast a gentle beam for oncoming traffic. However, in certain 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y models, these lights might be shining too brightly, which could be a problem on the road.
Risk if Unfixed
If your low beams are too bright, they can make it harder for other drivers to see, increasing the chance of a crash, especially at night or in heavy traffic.

You'll be notified by mail on September 15, 2026, and your Tesla dealer will take care of the repair once it's available. In the meantime, you can contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752 for more information.

Original — What Happened
Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles. The headlight low beams may be too bright and exceed the maximum light output. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
