What Happened
The low beams in your Model 3 or Model Y's headlights are designed to illuminate the road ahead. But in some 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles, these low beams are shining too brightly.
Risk if Unfixed
If your low beams are too bright, they could temporarily blind oncoming drivers, making it harder for them to see. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Tesla will work on a solution and send you a recall notice by September 15, 2026. When you get the notice, contact Tesla's customer service at 1-877-798-3752 for more information.

Original — What Happened
Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles. The headlight low beams may be too bright and exceed the maximum light output. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
