What Happened
The headlight low beams in your Model 3 or Model Y help you see the road ahead, but in some 2017-2023 and 2020-2023 models, they might be shining too brightly.

Headlights that are too intense can make it harder for other drivers to see at night, increasing the risk of a crash.

Original — What Happened
Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles. The headlight low beams may be too bright and exceed the maximum light output. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
