What Happened
The headlight low beams in your Model 3 or Model Y are the bulbs that light up the road ahead of you at night. In some 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles, these beams might be shining too brightly, which could temporarily blind oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of a collision.
Risk if Unfixed
If your headlight low beams are too bright, they could reduce visibility for other drivers on the road, making it harder for them to see and increasing the chance of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Tesla dealer will contact you with a plan to adjust or replace the headlight low beams to ensure they meet safety standards, and this service will be done at no cost to you.

Original — What Happened
Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2017-2023 Model 3 and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles. The headlight low beams may be too bright and exceed the maximum light output. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
