What Happened
The engine's oil system in your Ram 3500, 4500, or 5500 is supposed to provide a protective film on your engine's connecting rod bearings when it's warming up. However, in some cases, this process can be incomplete, leaving the bearings vulnerable to damage.

If the bearings fail, the engine block could be punctured, causing oil to leak onto hot parts and potentially start a fire.
