What Happened
The electric power steering system in your vehicle helps make steering easier. It's made up of some bolts that connect a crucial part called the steering gear motor to the gear housing.
Risk if Unfixed
If these bolts get corroded by road salt or water, they could break or come loose. If that happens, you might need to use more force to steer your vehicle, especially at low speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will apply a protective sealant to the bolts and replace them if they're damaged. If one or more of the bolts are broken, they'll install a new steering gear in your vehicle — all at no cost to you.
